Hasnoel Ramly

Director

Hasnoel is a Director and founding member of BAC. He has has assumed Senior Leadership roles in the areas of public policy, corporate finance, investment advisory, strategic reviews, financial advisory and risk management in various engagements for Multinationals, Public Listed Companies, Government Ministries, Government Linked Companies, Agencies and Statutory Bodies, and SMEs.

Hasnoel has provided Principal Leadership to the following engagements:

  • Structured numerous Private Finance Initiatives (PFIs) for several huge undertakings to the Government of Malaysia in areas related to education, healthcare, infrastructure, transportation, defence, technology, waste management, water and utilities, facilities management, energy and renewable energy.
  • Initial Public Offering (IPO) advisory on several listings on the Main Market and ACE Market of Bursa Saham

  • Advised on financial and operational restructuring schemes for a number of companies listed in Bursa Malaysia in the ICT, manufacturing and ship building industry

  • Performed fund raising exercises for major infrastructure projects in water, sewerage, education and healthcare related industries

  • Performed analysis on various funding option for a massive military hardware acquisition on behalf of a listed company in their proposal to the Government of Malaysia

  • Performed Strategic and Financial Diagnostic Review for the Independent Power Producer (IPP) of a Large Public Listed Conglomerate.

  • Reviewed the process of procurement of military hardware in the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Malaysian Navy for Ministry of Finance

  • Developed a strategic blueprint for the Government's acquisition of the listed property company.

  • Developed the acquisition plan and subsequently formulated a strategic transformation blueprint for a private university on behalf of an education fondation.

Hasnoel was previously a Manager with Financial & Commodity Risk Consulting practice of Andersen, spearheading the establisment of the unit in the KL office. His career experiences include serving as a Senior Manager within the UEM Group and in the risk management, treasury and internal audit functions of CIMB Bank.

Hasnoel graduated from University of Southampton, UK in BUsiness Economics and Accounting. e is also Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a member of the Association for Investment Management & Research (AIMR, now CFA Institute, US), the Global Association of RIsk Professionals (GARP), UK, and the Malaysian Society of Financial Analyst (MSFA). He holds a Capital Markets Services Representative's License issued by Securities Commission Malaysia.

Azhim Hadi Daud

Director

Azhim is a Director and founding member of BAC. His area of expertise covers financial advisory services, process improvements, risk management and technology advisory services. His clients include those operating in financial services, power generation, aerospace design, maritime services, healthcare, mining, manufacturing and the public sector.

Azhim as provided Principal Leadership to the following engagements:

  • Structured several Private Finance Initiatives (PFIs) and Public Private Partneship (PPP) arrangements for several huge undertakings to the Government of Malaysia in areas related to education, healthcare, facilities management, defence and tecnology.
  • Developed a Public Sector Comparator (PSC) model for the Economic Planning Unit to assist in the evaluation of Private Financing Initiatives (PFI) in area of healthcare and education.
  • Performed fund raising exercises for several projects in transport, aviation, education, healthcare, property development and water related industries.
  • Advised on the commercial and Financial Proposition for a Concession Renewal of a Hospital Support Services Concessionaire.
  • Advised a corporate Debt Restructuringm and subsequently a Fund Raising Exercise for a Cable Manufaturer as part of a Proposed Reverse Takeover (RTO)
  • Performed financial due diligence and commercial evaluations on proposed acquisitions for potential investors.
  • Developed financial forecasts and projections for a Malaysian gold mining company for submission towards its listing on the Alternative investment Market in the UK.
  • Developed a proposal and financial verification exercise on the defence procurement of the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Malaysian Navy for Ministry of Finance.

Prior to BAC, Azhim was a Manager at Ernst & Young, Kuala Lumpur's Assurance & Advisory Business Services practice, specialising in the financial services industry. Then, he had over seven (7) years of experiences mainly involving financial management, operational reviews and process improvements in a varietry of industries. Those industries include banking, Islamic banking, insurance, takaful, reinsurance, investment & asset management, unit and property trusts, venture capital, leasing, factoring, precious metals trader, securities and card services. is exposure extends to clients in Brunei and Indonesia.

Azhim holds a Degree in Accounting and Finance from University of Lancaster, UK and is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA). He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). He holds a Capital Markets Services Representative's License issued by the Securities Commission Malaysia.

Wan Kamaruddin Ali

Director

Wan is a Director and is highly experienced in cross border financial services. He was the founding Director and the Deputy Managing Director of Babcock & Brown Asia Pacific, and their Director of Infrastucture of East Asia.

Wan started his career in the financial services sector with Bank of America, and subsequently with Amanah-Chase Merchant Bank and Amanah International Finance as the Chief Executive Officer.

Whilst with Babcock & Brown, Wan also gained considerable experience in the airline leasing industry with Japanese Leases secured for PMB for its acquisition of two (2) B777s and B747s freighters in 2004 and 2006 respectively.

In recent years, Wan spends a lot of is time in the Republic of Kazakhstan, advising Malaysian entities on several projects on the development and financing of oil and gas projects and independent Power Producer (IPP) projects.

His primary expertise lies in the infrastucture, Energy and Oil & Gas industries. Wan spent more than 15 years working on many toll-road concession projects, with the major ones being:

  • the PLUS highway (from conceptualism in 1985 to financial close 1989).
  • the Bosnian portion of the Trans European Expressway
  • the sell-side advisor to United Engineers Malaysia (UEM) for the Manila-Cavite Toll-road in Manila, Philiphines.

Prior to Babcock & Brown in 2001, he was a Director with Fieldstone Capital Services. His experience with the Fieldstone Capital Services includes large scale hydro projects in Malaysia, Mongolia and Mozambigue.

Jamilatul Naimah Mat Arifin

Associate Director

Naimah is an Associate Director with BAC. Naimah’s area of expertise covers financial advisory services, strategic transformation, process improvements, and risk management advisory services to organisations operating in a variety of industries.

Her recent project experience includes:

  • Structure numerous Private Finance Initiatives (PFIs) for several huge undertakings to the Government of Malaysia in areas related to education, healthcare, defence, technology, utilitie and facilities management.
  • Initial Public Offering (IPO) advisory on several listing on the Main Market and ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia for companies in construction & maintenance, media operator, ICT and facilities management industries.
  • Developed the Commercial and FInancial Proposition for a Concession Renewal of a Hospital Support Services Concessionaire.
  • Advised on securing the Development Rights via Land Swap Redevelopment Arrangement for the Procurement of Minsitry of Defence assets
  • Provided Strategic and Financial advice to a Consortium of Foreign and Local Companies to bid for a major public transportation undertaking to the Government of Malaysia
  • Performed fund raising exercises for several infratructure projects and clients in the manufacturing, bio technolog, transportation, education, hospitality, construction, healthcare and water related industries.
  • Performed financial due diligence and commercial evaluations on propsed acquisitions for potential investors.

Prior to BAC, Naimah was a Manager with the Risk and Business Solutions practice of Earnst & Young Kuala Lumpur office for over five (5) years. During that time, she led several engagements in corporate governance and internal control reviews, development of enterprise risk management framework, internal audit outsourcing and process improvements.

Naima holds a 1st Class Accounting degree from Universiti Teknologi Mara and is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA). She holds a Capital Markets Services Representative's License issued by the Securities Commission Malaysia.

Khairil Effendi Kassim

Managing Consultant

Khairil’s area of expertise covers financial advisory services, investment advisory and process improvements to organizations operating in a variety of industries.

His recent project experience includes:

  • Structure numerous Private Finance Initiatives (PFIs) for several huge undertakings to the Government of Malaysia in areas related to renewable energy, education, healthcare, ICT, technology and facilities management.
  • Initial Public Offering (IPO) advisory on several listing on the Main Market and ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia of an integrated facility management company, a telco & power equipment manufacturer and an ICT & smart card tecnology company.
  • Provided Strategic and FInancial advisory for the commercialisation of renewable energy and alternative energy. Collectively, his experience covers solar, biomass and biogas projects with capacity of 40MWs of renewable energy at several sites throughout the country. Another related project include the proposed development of an integrated renewable energy plant which potentially produces 20MWs of renewable energy.
  • Developed the Public Sector Comparator(PSC) Framework for the EPU for the purpose of evaluating PFI in area of hhealthhcare and education.
  • Performed fund raising exercises across a number of sectors, particularly a number of renewable energy realted Projects both locally and abroad for both local and international ventures on both debt and equity.
  • Advised on available funding options ans incentives for the development of numerous renewable energy related projects.
  • Carried out financial due diligence exercises for organisations in the ICT, oil & gas and education sectors.
  • Developed the commercial proposition for a concession renewal of a hospital concessionaire.

Prior to BAC, Khairil was a consultant with Grant Thornton COnsulting, where e performed several financial assurance, financial due diligence and investigate/forensic audit exercises for various companies. Khairil holds a Degree in Accounting and Finance from Liverpool Jon Moore's University, UK. e also as a Higher Diploma in BUsiness Studies in Accounting (1st Merit) from Dublin Business School, Ireland.
